Real Madrid Win in Stunning 4-1 Rout of Sevilla

A convincing Real Madrid win saw the Spanish giants beat Sevilla 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu, with Arda Güler, Kylian Mbappé and Yan Diomande all making decisive contributions. The result extended Madrid’s impressive home record in LaLiga to eight consecutive victories and reduced the gap to league leaders Barcelona to six points.

José Mourinho’s side returned to domestic action following their dramatic 4-3 Champions League comeback victory over Roma. With Barcelona continuing to collect points at the top of the table, Madrid needed a strong response to keep the pressure on their rivals.

Güler delivered the opening goal with a superb finish, while Mbappé added a second before the break. The French forward then converted a penalty in the second half, and Diomande restored Madrid’s three-goal cushion shortly after Sevilla had briefly threatened a comeback.

Despite conceding four times, Sevilla showed some attacking promise and managed to find the net through Manuel Bueno. However, Madrid’s greater quality in the decisive moments ensured the visitors left the Bernabéu without a point.

Arda Güler Breaks the Deadlock for Real Madrid

Madrid began the contest looking to take control, knowing that Barcelona’s latest victory had increased the importance of securing three points.

The breakthrough arrived in the 30th minute through Güler, who produced an excellent finish to reward Madrid’s attacking pressure.

Jude Bellingham started the move by sending the ball towards Diomande. The forward then picked out Güler, who lifted a superb effort over Sevilla goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos and into the net.

The goal gave Madrid the advantage and demonstrated Güler’s ability to make an impact in the final third. His composed execution left the Sevilla goalkeeper with little chance of preventing the opener.

Madrid immediately looked to build on their lead. Mbappé nearly doubled the advantage moments later, forcing Vlachodimos to stretch out a leg to keep the attempt out.

The hosts continued to threaten, and Sevilla soon found themselves facing another difficult attacking move.

Mbappé Doubles Madrid’s Advantage

Madrid’s second goal arrived just seven minutes after Güler’s opener, with Bellingham again playing a key role.

The midfielder produced an inventive backheel to release Mbappé, who collected the ball with excellent control before working his way into a scoring position.

The French forward finished from close range to give Madrid a two-goal cushion and put the hosts in a strong position before half-time.

Bellingham’s contribution highlighted his influence in Madrid’s attacking play, while Mbappé demonstrated the sharp movement and finishing that make him such a threat near goal.

Sevilla struggled to contain the hosts during that spell, but they continued to look for opportunities to respond.

Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had enjoyed a relatively quiet opening period before being called into action during first-half stoppage time.

Lucien Agoumé struck towards goal, but Courtois reacted with an excellent one-handed save to preserve Madrid’s two-goal lead going into the interval.

That intervention proved important, as Sevilla had at least found a way to test the Madrid defence before the break.

Real Madrid Win Gains Momentum After Half-Time

Sevilla returned for the second half looking for a route back into the contest.

Felix Correia tried his luck with a speculative effort that deflected over the crossbar, offering the visitors a brief opportunity to build pressure.

However, Madrid struck again before Sevilla could make significant progress.

Diomande played the ball through to Mbappé, who was brought down after Castrin clipped his heels inside the penalty area. Referee Mateo Busquets awarded Madrid a spot-kick, giving the hosts an opportunity to extend their advantage.

Mbappé stepped up and calmly converted with a panenka finish, lifting the ball beyond Vlachodimos to make it 3-0.

The penalty put Madrid firmly in control and left Sevilla with a considerable challenge if they were to produce a comeback.

Mbappé’s second goal of the match also added to an already productive attacking performance, while Madrid continued to take advantage of the opportunities presented to them.

Sevilla Fight Back but Madrid Respond

Although Madrid appeared comfortable with their three-goal advantage, Sevilla refused to abandon their attacking efforts.

Youssouf Fofana, who was playing on loan from AC Milan, tested Courtois with a strike from just outside the penalty area. The Belgian goalkeeper reacted well to parry the effort away.

Sevilla eventually found a goal when Manuel Bueno capitalised on a defensive lapse from Madrid.

Bueno made the most of the opportunity and fired a clinical left-footed finish into the net, giving the visitors a consolation goal and reducing the deficit to 3-1.

The strike offered Sevilla a measure of encouragement, but their hopes of mounting a comeback suffered another setback almost immediately.

Just two minutes after Bueno scored, Diomande produced a powerful finish of his own to restore Madrid’s three-goal advantage.

His effort completed Madrid’s four-goal haul and ensured Sevilla could not build on the momentum created by their goal.

Diomande’s contribution was particularly significant because he had also helped create the opportunity for Mbappé’s penalty. His involvement in the attacking moves underlined his importance to Madrid’s performance.

Arda Güler Earns Man of the Match Recognition

Güler received the Man of the Match award after opening the scoring with an outstanding finish.

His goal changed the direction of the contest, breaking Sevilla’s resistance and allowing Madrid to play with greater confidence.

The Turkish attacker made his contribution count at a crucial moment, giving the hosts the breakthrough they needed before Bellingham and Mbappé combined for the second goal.

Mbappé also delivered a decisive performance, scoring twice and converting his penalty with composure. Bellingham’s creative involvement and Diomande’s late strike further strengthened Madrid’s attacking display.

Courtois also played an important role by keeping Sevilla at bay when the visitors threatened, particularly with his save from Agoumé before half-time.

Madrid’s performance was therefore built on contributions from several players, with Güler’s opener setting the tone for an emphatic home victory.

What the Real Madrid Win Means for LaLiga

The result extended Madrid’s winning run at the Bernabéu in LaLiga to eight matches and brought them back to within six points of Barcelona.

It also marked their sixth victory in their last seven matches across all competitions, with one defeat during that period.

Madrid moved ahead of Real Betis into third place following the victory, adding further importance to the three points as they prepare for next week’s El Clasico meeting with Barcelona.

The upcoming clash will provide another major test for Mourinho’s side as they look to reduce the distance to their rivals at the top of the table.

Sevilla, meanwhile, remain sixth after suffering their third league defeat of the season. Their struggles against Madrid continued, extending their winless run in LaLiga meetings between the sides to 16 matches, including two draws and 14 defeats.

Although Bueno’s goal offered a brief positive moment, Sevilla were unable to prevent Madrid from controlling the decisive stages of the contest.

Madrid Send a Strong Message Before El Clasico

Madrid’s 4-1 victory over Sevilla delivered an emphatic response after their Champions League exertions and kept them within reach of Barcelona.

Güler opened the scoring with a moment of quality, Bellingham helped create the second goal, and Mbappé proved clinical with two finishes, including a confidently executed penalty.

Diomande then sealed the result with a powerful strike after Sevilla had briefly threatened to make the scoreline more competitive.

The performance also showed Madrid’s ability to respond when opponents create opportunities. Courtois produced important saves, while the team took advantage of their chances at the other end.

With El Clasico approaching, Madrid have strengthened their position and maintained pressure on the league leaders. Sevilla, by contrast, will need to address their continued difficulties against Madrid after another defeat.

The 4-1 scoreline reflected Madrid’s attacking quality and their effectiveness in key moments. Güler’s impressive contribution earned him the individual award, but the collective performance ensured the hosts secured another valuable LaLiga victory.
