Saka Injury Scare Deepens as Arteta Awaits More Scans

The latest Premier League injuries update brings good news for several clubs, but a worry for Arsenal. Bukayo Saka is the headline absentee, while Erling Haaland, Morgan Gibbs-White, Brian Brobbey and Junior Kroupi are all moving in the right direction.

The club-by-club list was last updated at 18:15 BST on 22 October 2026 and covers all 20 teams in the 2026/27 season. Here are the key stories first, then every club.

Premier League Injuries: The Big Stories

Saka Worry for Arsenal

Saka is listed with a quad injury. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has given his latest view on the winger, and it is not an encouraging one.

“It doesn’t look good,” was the headline from Arteta’s update.

Haaland Fit for Villa Trip

Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Haaland is 100 per cent available for this weekend’s game against Aston Villa.

Premier League Injuries Revealed: Saka Doubt, Erling Haaland and Every Club’s Absentees

The update follows a scare earlier this month. Haaland limped off after scoring twice in City’s 3-2 win over Ipswich Town on 17 October, following a challenge from Jack Clarke.

He then sat out City’s 5-1 Champions League win over AEK Athens on 20 October. He was named on the bench but did not play, and Maresca said he was rested after a heavy workload.

Gibbs-White Cleared for Ipswich

Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White is available again. He will return to the side for Forest’s Premier League match against Ipswich Town on Friday, 23 October.

He had been dealing with a minor muscle injury, picked up against Crystal Palace. Head coach Oliver Glasner confirmed that Gibbs-White trained all week without any problems and is ready to play.

Brobbey Set to Return for Sunderland

Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey is expected back for Sunday’s Premier League game against Leeds United on 25 October.

Head coach Régis Le Bris rested him for the Europa League match against Lech Poznań on Thursday, 22 October. The decision was a precaution, and it lines him up for a return at the weekend.

Kroupi Close to His Season Debut

Bournemouth forward Junior Kroupi has returned to full first-team training. Manager Marco Rose says he could make his season debut off the bench against Manchester United on Sunday.

Kroupi fractured a metatarsal during Bournemouth’s pre-season camp in Austria and had surgery in July. He is not registered on the club’s UEFA squad list, so he will miss the Europa League game against AC Milan.

The 20-year-old French forward led the Cherries with 13 goals in 35 appearances last season.
