A new Diogo Jota biography has been released by Liverpool, and it celebrates the life, career and legacy of one of the club’s most loved players. Titled Forever in our Hearts, the book is available now.
Every purchase supports the LFC Foundation. All LFC profits will fund a grassroots football programme to be established in his name.
Diogo Jota Biography: The Author and the Story
The book is written by José Delgado, a Portuguese author and former professional footballer. He traces Jota’s path from his early years in Portugal to his rise as one of the most admired players of his generation.
It also shows how Jota became a cherished member of the Reds family.
Reach Sport is the publisher.
Voices From Those Who Knew Him Best
Delgado spoke to more than 90 people who knew Jota well. The interviews include family members, friends, teammates and coaches.
Among the contributors are:
- His wife, Rute
- His parents, Isabel and Joaquim
- Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp
Their stories build a personal portrait of both the footballer and the man.
Talent, Determination and Humility
The biography reflects on Jota’s talent, determination and humility. It also celebrates the bond he shared with his brother, André.
Both brothers left a lasting impact on teammates, supporters and the wider football community.
A Remarkable Chapter on the Pitch
The book follows Jota through a remarkable period of his career. That period ended with Premier League success at Liverpool and UEFA Nations League glory with Portugal.
It also reflects on the tragic events that followed his marriage to childhood sweetheart Rute. The book covers the outpouring of grief and tributes from across the football world after the deaths of Diogo and André in July 2025.
Delgado’s Words on the Project
Delgado explained how the project began and what guided him.
“This book began as an opportunity to help preserve Diogo’s memory at a moment of profound sadness. My commitment throughout was to tell his story with care, honesty and respect for Diogo, André, and the family and friends who loved them.
“What moved me most was the generosity of those closest to them. Family members, teammates, coaches and friends shared their memories to help future generations understand the person Diogo was, and their love for both brothers can be felt on every page.
“While researching the book, I came to understand the unique bond between Diogo and Liverpool FC. Everywhere I went, people spoke not only of his talent, but also his humility, commitment and character.
“My hope is that Forever in our Hearts serves as a fitting tribute to Diogo’s life and legacy, and ensures his story continues to inspire others for years to come.”

Liverpool Continue to Honour the Brothers
The release comes as the club keeps honouring the memory of Diogo and André Silva.
Earlier this year, a permanent memorial was unveiled outside Anfield. It gives supporters a place to reflect on the brothers’ lives and their impact on the football community.
