Arsenal seal explosive Christos Tzolis signing in major boost as the Premier League champions strengthen their attacking options with one of Europe’s most productive wingers. The 24-year-old Greece international has joined from Club Brugge on a long-term contract after a sensational spell in Belgium.
Tzolis arrives in north London after scoring 43 goals and providing 45 assists in 108 appearances for Club Brugge. His performances helped the Belgian club win the league title and the Belgian Cup, while he was also named Belgian Pro League Player of the Season in consecutive campaigns.
The former PAOK Thessaloniki academy graduate first caught attention with his impressive scoring record in Greece before earning a move to Norwich City in 2021. He made an immediate impact in England by scoring twice and adding two assists on his debut in a 6-0 Carabao Cup victory over Bournemouth.
Loan spells with FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf played a key role in his development, and he continued his remarkable run of scoring 20 or more goals in a season. That consistency convinced Arsenal to move quickly for the winger this summer.
Last season was arguably the best campaign of his career. Tzolis scored 22 goals and provided 29 assists, while also producing impressive performances in the Champions League. Speaking after completing the transfer, Tzolis admitted the move was still sinking in.
“It’s absolutely amazing to sign for such a big club, the champions of England. I’m very proud to be part of this team,” he said.
The Greek international also revealed that a detailed conversation with Mikel Arteta helped convince him that Arsenal was the perfect next step.
“We talked about the club, the team, his plans and my role. It was only positive things,” Tzolis explained.
Describing his style of play, the new signing said he is a direct attacker who is always looking to make a decisive contribution.
“I’m always hungry to score or give the final pass to my teammates, and I work hard for the team defensively as well.”
Tzolis believes he is now much better prepared for the Premier League than during his first spell with Norwich.
“It’s the best league in the world, very physical and the quality is extremely high. I feel ready for that challenge,” he added.
Arsenal’s new winger also recalled facing the Gunners in the Champions League last season, when Club Brugge suffered a 3-0 defeat.
“It was the most difficult team to attack against that I’ve played so far. They were very efficient and deserved the win,” he said.
One of the most emotional aspects of the move is his return to Emirates Stadium, where he made his Premier League debut in 2021.
“I was in love with the stadium from the first time I played there. I’m looking forward to scoring my first goal there,” Tzolis said.
With pre-season already underway, Tzolis has joined his new teammates and is eager to begin the next chapter of his career.
“My target is to win titles and help the team as much as possible. I want to settle in quickly, play regularly and contribute with goals and assists,” he said.
Tzolis will wear the number 17 shirt and has already joined Arsenal’s squad during pre-season preparations.
